How To Measure Your Dog - not as complicated as it seems! However each coat manufacturer comes out with different sizing so it can seem confusing. If in any doubt, email me sharman@optusnet.com.au so between us we can make sure your dachshund is not wearing a coat covering only half of their body.
Coat size is determined by measuring base of neck to base of tail.
Be sure your dog is standing squarely, with head up, while measuring. With your dog looking straight ahead, measure from the point where the neck joins the body to the point where the tail joins the body. We suggest you do this more than once to make sure you get the same meaurement each time!

Turnouts, Nylon Raincoats, Snugglers
The length of these coats are actually 1.5cm (1/2") longer than the stated size. i.e. for a 30.5cm coat, back length of coat measures 32cm. (12 1.2")
Because of this when choosing a size it is best to round down. Eg. 14" is 14 1/2" So if your dachshund only just measures 14" go for a 13".

If you end up with the wrong size I will exchange for the correct one. After all, this is a shop where your dachshund will finally find a coat that fits. Please leave all labels attached until you are sure you're happy with the size.
