Bushwalking with dogs at 100 Aker Wood Bundanoon NSW

Stumbled accross this lil gem while house sitting in Bundanoon.

Bundanoon is home to Brigadoon and some awsome bush walks in the national park. Located in the middle of Sydney and Canberra its a weekend destination town. To be honest im not sure if there is pet friendly accommodation in the area.

Being able to take my boys here was a good little suprise. Located behind The Pony Club on Quarry Road, head down the back on the left hand side past the holding yards. You will spot a big pile of dirt and the sign 100 Aker Wood.

This track is well worn about 5min in (pending walking pace and how much sniffing and wombat poo eating your pooch does)
You will come to what looks like an access road, cross to the next part of the track where you go down a little hill to a creek crossing which has a little wooden crossing bridge. Go up the track a bit more and you come across The Crib. This walk is about 15min, however, there is another track I wandered down at the back of The Pony Club which loops back to the club yard. This a shorter walk, but if you start from town you can cut down Old Wingello Road.

From Bundanoon train station, go to the pub side of the track, head down Ellsmore Road, turn right along Old Wingello Road, you will come to a weird little fork in the road that turns off to Ferndale Road. Stay left and follow Old Wingello Road. (you can go Ferndale Road, it will bring you to The Pony Club. Old Wingello Road turns into a dirt road and has minimal traffic and better for walking.

Once you are at end of Old Wingello Road you will need to turn right and walk up short hill with The Pony Club on your left. When you come out at the end of the track you'll be back on Quarry Road so turn left and wander back to Old Wingello Road and you will be back in town.

After you walk, there are a some great places to eat in town. I highly recommend Delilicious. With tables and chairs outside, they offer both dine and take away. $5 for a large coffee (take away). They also have a great cheese and meat selection alongside other goodies to make up a nice charcuterie board or dinner if you are staying. Open at 5.30am 7days a week and close around 2.30pm.
